Kathe Newman and Eric Seymour are the recipients of grant funding from Rutgers REACH initiative and were featured in Rutgers Today. The Rutgers Equity Alliance for Community Health (REACH) is a new presidential program that brings together community-based organizations, community leaders and researchers to improve health outcomes through community-based health equity research, education, service, and programming. Kathe Newman received funding to examine mortgage lending disparities in Camden and will be partnering with St. Joseph’s Carpenter Society. Eric Seymour will be working with Unity Square Community Center in New Brunswick to study the challenges faced by emergency service organizations in supporting unhoused and precariously housed populations.
