Originally from Jersey City, Hamza Choudhry is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Hamza strives to improve pre-hospital care through emergency medical services. He volunteers as an EMT for the River Road Rescue Squad and works as one for Hackensack Meridian Health. To aid in improving EMS services in his area, he helped pass legislation establishing a Division of EMS under the Township of Piscataway. Hamza serves as a lieutenant for the River Road Rescue Squad, where he maintains clinical and operational oversight of over 40 members. He was nominated for EMT of the Year at the 2022 National Conference on EMS and was a semifinalist in the National SIM Competition at the same conference. Hamza is also a passionate filmmaker and the founder of HHC Films. Through HHC Films, he has worked on short films, commercials, and campaign videos. He is the lead film director for MedicZero, a non-profit dedicated to teaching hands-only CPR and basic first aid. Hamza directed and produced the campaign video for Jersey City Board of Education President, Mussab Ali. Hamza aims to continue working in EMS to improve the field and patient outcomes.
