Aditi Rana is a senior at Rutgers University with a SAS joint degree in public health with a minor in nutrition. She is on the pre-physician assistant track in hopes of becoming a women’s health PA-C. Aditi is also a clinical care technician at RWJ University Hospital where she helps nurses with bedside care, vitals, and phlebotomy. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dog, kickboxing, and trying new food places with friends and family. Over the past summer, she went on a medical outreach trip to Cusco, Peru where she was able to use her skills as a clinical care technician to help over 500 patients in the small rural towns surrounding Cusco. During her time there she was able to see firsthand how socioeconomic status creates health disparities. This experience has made her fall in love with global health. Her future goals include applying for a master’s program in global health focusing on women’s access to healthcare as well as becoming a physician assistant.
