Affordable Housing and Shelter on Faith Land Database

Hallowell Multicultural Center and Parish

Adaptive reuse of Episcopal Church of Saints Matthew and Barnabas church buildings. The Diocese donated the property (parsonage, santuary and parish hall) to a local nonprofit. The 2-story parish hall was renovated to housing that includes five-bedrooms for large immigrant families, and the church was converted into a multicultural center. The parsonage is also home to large immigrant families. Church Donated to Capital Area New Mainers Project (CANMP). Buildings were constructed more than 160 years ago.
