Adeel Yaqoob

Public Service Fellow 2023-24

Adeel Yaqoob is currently a student at Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences and Rutgers School of Communication and Information. His major is Communications with a specialization in Health and Wellness Communication. He is also minoring (tentative major) in Urban Planning and Design at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. Adeel has been heavily involved in the Rutgers Theater community, serving as a Stage Manager and actor for Cabaret Theater and College Avenue Players. He has also been involved in Rutgers Routure Fashion Magazine, Rutgers Commuter Student Association, and Rutgers Film Production Club. He is a member of the Rutgers University Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society. Most recently, he is a Segment Correspondent for Rutgers Scarlet Media where he is involved with highlighting student organizations and causes at Rutgers and the surrounding community. He had the opportunity to host a livestream of 2023 Rutgers Day. Adeel has been a Planning Intern for the Municipality of Princeton. This past summer, He was also a UCLA Public Health Scholar, under the John R. Lewis Undergraduate Public Health Scholars Fellowship. He worked with a community based organization in Los Angeles on public health efforts, as well as taking classes at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Adeel hopes to continue using his passion for health communication, urban design, and public health to help underserved and underrepresented communities around the world.
