Rev. Eric Dobson is a distinguished faith leader, social activist, and political consultant renowned for his unwavering commitment to social justice, integration and community engagement. A gifted preacher and public speaker, Rev. Dobson has inspired countless people through his compassionate leadership and dedication to inclusivity. For nearly 15 years, Rev. Dobson has worked with Fair Share Housing Center, as Deputy Director and now as Senior Special Advisor, helping to transform the organization into one of the leading affordable housing non-profits in the country. A master at coalition building, Rev. Dobson has collaborated with government agencies, developers, and community groups to create sustainable housing solutions on the state and federal level that prioritize the needs of low-income families and individuals. Rev. Dobson is also a founding member of the United Black Agenda, a 501c3 that is a coalition of major Black-led civil rights organizations. The UBA has worked tirelessly and secured significant advancements in criminal justice reform, voter rights, housing and economic equity. Rev. Dobson’s persuasive advocacy has been instrumental in the passage of key laws aimed at providing the development of affordable housing, funding for first generation and first-time homeownership programs, stopping discrimination of returning citizens from access to housing, reducing homelessness, stopping discrimination in real estate appraisals, increasing access to quality education, and protecting civil rights. Rev. Dobson frequently speaks about race relations and intentional integration at conferences, universities, and public forums. In the political realm, Rev. Dobson has advised numerous local and national campaigns, including the campaign of President Obama, providing strategic guidance on policy development, community outreach, and voter engagement. Currently, he’s advising Congressman Andy Kim in his bid for U.S. Senate. Rev. Dobson is an ordained minister and received a B.S. in Religion with a focus on African/ African American Religions from Temple University. Rev. Eric is the recipient of numerous awards for his outstanding contributions to social justice, including the Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award and the NAACP Social Justice Advocate Award. He serves on the Board of Directors of Salvation and Social Justice as well as on the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s JEGNA Council, He currently serves on the Leadership Team of the New Jersey Coalition of Religious Leaders where he advises on public policy related to issues surrounding social justice and was appointed by NJ Governor Murphy to the State’s Wealth Disparity Task Force.
