James Laurie is a rising senior majoring in social work and minoring in public health. His college career began at Middlesex College where he studied chemistry. After participating in a biochemistry fellowship at the City College of New York, he realized that he wanted to work directly with communities and their most pressing issues. This led him to social work and public health. Since transferring to Rutgers University, he has also become certified as a Peer Mental Health Educator and a Sexual Health Advocate with Rutgers HOPE. In his free time, he loves to meet new people, enjoy live music, and explore cities.
