Marcelo Remond

Public Service Fellow 2023-2024

Marcelo Remond is a senior majoring in Civil Engineering, with a minor in Urban Planning and Design. He is passionate about all sorts of urban issues, especially transportation-related ones. Marcelo enjoys writing about urban issues to create awareness. He has written several opinion articles for The Daily Targum. Currently, he is a freelance writer on Medium and a Blogger for Planetizen. Marcelo has also been reposted by the New Jersey’s Transit Friendly Planning Newsletter (NJTOD). Thanks to his academic performance, leadership and service to the engineering community, Marcelo is a recipient of the Rachel S. and Michael Lipman Endowed Memorial Scholarship and Richard N. Weeks Endowed Scholarship Fund. For the 2022-2023 year, he acted as Structural Lead for the Camden Project in the Rutgers Chapter of Engineers Without Borders. In the summer of 2023, Marcelo joined Stantec as a Transportation Traffic intern, where he learned from professionals in the industry.
